Repetitive strain injuries, or RSIs, are common injuries sustained by workers who undertake tasks such as typing, hairdressing, or assembly line work. Your employer must take reasonable steps to ensure your work environment is safe, including undertaking risk assessments to identify any measures that might prevent you from developing RSI. If your employer didn’t carry out risk assessments, or if they did but then didn’t act on their findings, you may be entitled to compensation for RSI. The term WRULD (Work Related Upper Limb Disorders) is now more commonly used to describe this condition, rather than RSI.
