Cardiff Half Marathon weekend is almost here. On Sunday, 5 October 2025, six of us from Mooneerams will be on the start line, running in support of our Charity of the Year 2025: Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.

We’ve trained through wet mornings, late evenings and the odd niggle (and more). Nothing out of the ordinary for half marathon preparation, but doing it together – and doing it for Noah’s Ark – has given the ‘doing of the miles’ a lot more meaning.
If you’ve ever visited the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity in Heath Park, Cardiff, you’ll know why we want to do this. The Charity helps to fund specialist equipment, improve hospital facilities, and provide families with support, all with the aim of making a tough time a little easier for poorly children and their loved ones.
What are we hoping for on Sunday? A steady pace, a few personal bests, and a strong finish. To be honest, we’ll be glad to get over that finish line. What we want more than anything is to try and raise a healthy total for Noah’s Ark. Every donation, large or small, pushes us on when the legs start to grumble around mile ten (who said, ‘four’?)
If you’re planning to come and cheer us on, thank you in advance. The lift you give us runners by cheering us on or calling out our names has to be experienced to be believed. Give us a wave if you spot a Noah’s Ark vest. We believe there will be over 300 of us.
