Mooneerams Solicitors has won the Business Growth Award (Up to 50 Employees) at the Legal News Wales Awards 2026.
The Cardiff-based personal injury solicitors received the award at a sold-out ceremony held at the historic Coal Exchange Hotel in Cardiff, on the 4th of June, attended by more than 300 guests from across the Welsh legal sector.
Sixteen members of the Mooneerams team attended the evening as the awards brought together law firms, barristers’ chambers, in-house legal teams, regulators, legal technology providers, and professional services organisations from across Wales
Now in their second year, the Legal News Wales Awards recognise achievement in the business of law in Wales. The awards celebrate firms, teams and individuals who are helping to strengthen legal services, support economic growth, invest in future talent and contribute to the wider legal sector.
The awards were independently judged by a panel drawn from the legal, regulatory, business and academic sectors. In addition to submitting a detailed written application, finalists took part in in-person interviews before a distinguished panel of judges, after which the winners were chosen.
The judges said they were impressed by the way Mooneerams Solicitors had grown the business despite the additional costs and risks associated with expansion. They referred to the firm’s clear goals, straightforward strategy and imaginative approach.
In particular, the judges noted that Mooneerams had looked closely at the client lifecycle and found ways to improve the client experience and the way each claim is managed from start to finish.
They added that the firm had shown what strong, straightforward planning can achieve when it is put into practice properly.
The Business Growth Award recognised the firm’s development over recent years, including its continued investment in people, systems and the client experience, while remaining focused on claimant personal injury and medical negligence work.
Alistair Worth, Managing Director of Mooneerams Solicitors, said:
“Receiving this award means a great deal to everyone at Mooneerams.
“Business growth is sometimes talked about purely in terms of numbers, but for us it has always had to be about more than that. We have worked hard to examine how clients are handled from their first enquiry of Mooneerams through to the conclusion of their claim, and to ensure the service they receive is clear, personal and well managed.
“The award reflects careful planning, but also the work of the whole team. Everyone has played a part in helping the firm move forward while keeping the client at the centre of what we do.
Having so many of the Mooneerams team at the event meant we could celebrate our success together. It was especially nice to see our younger team members enjoying themselves and really feeling excited about winning the award. After all, it’s an award that was won due to their efforts – so they have every right to be proud of themselves”
The evening also featured keynote addresses from Richard Orpin, Chief Executive of the Legal Services Board, and Mark Evans, President of The Law Society of England and Wales.
Mooneerams would like to thank Legal News Wales for organising the event and congratulate all the finalists and winners recognised on the night.
