Isabelle Cottrell
Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Cottrell is a Paralegal in Mooneerams’ Road Traffic Accident team.
Izzy was born in Newcastle but moved to Gloucestershire when she was young.
She studied Law at Cardiff University, graduating in 2026 with a First-Class Honours LLB degree.
Izzy first came to Mooneerams in 2024 for a period of work experience. She subsequently joined the firm on a placement, attending the office one day a week alongside her university studies, before completing a further internship with Mooneerams during the summer of 2025.
After graduating, Izzy joined the firm as a Paralegal in the Road Traffic Accident department.
Her role involves handling personal injury claims through the Official Injury Claim portal and the Low Value Protocol process. Her day-to-day work includes taking instructions from clients, submitting claims, arranging medical evidence and liaising with third-party insurers as claims progress.
Alongside her university studies, Izzy volunteered with Support Through Court, helping people who were going through the court process without legal representation. The experience gave her an early insight into the importance of making legal information clear and accessible.
Izzy’s interest in personal injury law has developed through the practical experience she has gained at Mooneerams. She particularly enjoys working directly with clients and helping people whose lives have been affected by injury.
Outside work, Izzy enjoys reading, playing tennis and skiing, as well as spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Zeb.
She has also completed the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, which included a five-day canoeing expedition.
